Hi again! For those techies among us, this post will cover most of the hardware and software that we currently use in the composition studio. Thanks to Mr. Neil Argo, one of our professors, and the Biola Conservatory of Music, we've been extremely blessed to be able to build a studio of this caliber within only a few years, and all of us film composers are very happy to have it.
Hardware:
-G5 Mac w/ 7 gigs of Ram and 3 harddrives.
-Tascam DM-3200 Digital Board
-2 MOTU 2408 hardware audio interfaces
-MOTU Digital MIDI Timepiece
-Roland RS-9 Midi Controller
-8 Neumann KM-184 microphones
Software:
-Digital Performer 5 (MOTU)
-Reason (Propellerhead)
-Atmosphere (Spectrasonics)
-Vienna Symphonic Library
-Sibelius
-Finale
-Toast with Jam (Roxio)
All of our film composers use this equipment to compose, record and produce scores, and it's all at your fingertips when you come to Biola.

Actually that would be 4 Neumann KM 184 mics and 4 Neumann KM 183 mics. Along with that we also have a Shure KSM 32 large diapragm condenser mic. We also have a headphone system by Furman with enough amplifiers/outputs for 10-20 musicians and much, much more.
